AREAS OF PRACTICE: Mr. Willoughby practices in the area of family law, landlord-tenant and general civil litigation.

MEMBERSHIPS: Mr. Willoughby is admitted to practice in Kansas, Missouri, the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Western District and the United States District Court for the Western District. He is an active member of the Clay County, Platte County and Kansas City Bar Associations.

PROFILE: Mr. Willoughby graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1995, after receiving his Undergraduate Degree from William Jewell College. Additionally, Mr. Willoughby holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degrees from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri.

In law school, Mr. Willoughby served as a member of the Law Review staff, was named to the order of Barristers, was a member of the National Moot Court team and received the Thomas E. Deacy Trial Practice Award for outstanding advocacy.

From 2001-2005 he was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, serving as Vice-chair of the Judiciary Committee, Chairman of the Joint Committee on Utility Infrastructure Investment, and Vice-chair of the Utility Regulation Committee.

In 2003, Mr. Willoughby received the Champion of Justice Award from the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the Outstanding Legislator Award from the Missouri Bar Association. In 2004, he received the Legislative Award from the Missouri Judicial Conference.

Mr. Willoughby is trained in domestic mediation and civil arbitration. He has led several continuing legal education conferences on legislative issues pertaining to the Judiciary, civil procedure, and utility regulation.

He served on the North Kansas City School Board from 1999-2001. He is the past president of Northland Neighborhoods, Inc., and is active in the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce. He presently serves on the Board of the Mid-America Assistance Coalition.

He and his wife, Judy, live in Gladstone, Missouri with their daughter, Logan
